This past year, thanks to your support, our free $25 trolley initiative has helped thousands of families across Southeast Queensland put food on the table during some of their toughest moments. Whether it was a single mum escaping domestic violence, an elderly pensioner struggling with rising costs, or a family recovering from natural disaster — your generosity turned a simple trolley of groceries into a message of hope.
Over 10,000 free trolleys were delivered this year, each one packed with pantry staples, fresh produce, and the dignity every family deserves. Behind every trolley is a story — and behind every story is someone like you who chose to make a difference.

This year, our disaster relief work was put to the test and together, we showed up when it mattered most.
When Cyclone Alfred tore through communities, and when devastating floods hit parts of NSW, thousands were left without homes, power, or basic necessities. In the middle of crisis, your support helped us respond fast, delivering emergency food, essential supplies, and hope to families who had lost everything.
From the muddy streets of flood-affected towns to cyclone-ravaged neighbourhoods, our teams were there, handing out food hampers, providing support, and reminding people they weren’t alone.
Thanks to you, we delivered over 2,000 emergency food packs and partnered with local groups to reach even the most isolated families. But as natural disasters become more frequent and more intense, the need keeps growing.

This year, through our $25 trolleys, discount grocery stores, and affordable home delivery service, Lighthouse Care was able to assist over 750,000 people across Southeast Queensland. That’s 750,000 moments of relief, dignity, and hope made possible by you.
From parents choosing between rent and groceries, to pensioners skipping meals just to get by, our food relief programs have become a lifeline. Our $25 trolleys are packed with essential pantry and fresh food items, enough to stretch meals for a whole week. While our heavily discounted groceries help families save up to 90% on their weekly shop. And for those who can’t reach us, our home delivery service brings support right to their door.

Since 2018, our Santa’s Little Helpers program has delivered more than just gifts. It has delivered hope, dignity, and Christmas magic to families doing it tough.
This past year alone, thanks to the incredible generosity of our Santa’s Little Helpers community of shoppers, we were able to deliver over 330 personalised gift packs, each valued at $200, to children across Southeast Queensland. Every shopper was carefully matched with a child’s wishlist. They shopped for and wrapped exactly what that child had asked for, often going above and beyond to make each gift extra special. Each present was wrapped with care and love, ensuring no child felt forgotten at Christmas.
Now, as we reflect on the journey so far, we are proud to be on track to reach an incredible milestone. Since the program began, we are approaching a total of $1 million worth of gifts given to children in need.
Behind every gift is a powerful story. A child in crisis. A parent overwhelmed with gratitude. A community that chose compassion.

In Australia, millions face the harsh reality of food insecurity daily. The 2024 Foodbank Hunger Report reveals that 32% of Australian households have experienced food insecurity in the past year, with 19% facing severe food insecurity. This means that 2 million households are often skipping meals or going entire days without eating. Single-parent families are among the hardest hit, with 69% facing food insecurity, 41% of which is severe. Additionally, households earning less than $30,000 annually have seen a 5% increase in food insecurity since 2022, now affecting 48% of these households. At Lighthouse Care, our mission is to make lives better so that together we can make the world better. We provide discounted groceries, $25 trolleys filled with essentials, and emergency food relief to thousands of families each year. Our services have reached over 70,000 families, and with your help, we can continue to expand our reach.
