Dear friends and colleagues,
2022 has proven to be more difficult than we ever could’ve imagined.
We are truly living in a season unlike anything we have seen in our lifetime. The world is groaning in pain, with wars going on, disease continuing to spread and natural disasters like the recent floods and the volcano that erupted in Tonga.
As a result, we are seeing the impact these events are having on the cost of living, with food prices increasing every day with no end in sight.
For many people, their priority is not what kind of car they drive or what house they live in. Their priority is simply surviving —- getting through life day after day and doing their best to put food on the table for their families.
As an organisation, Lighthouse Care is committed to bridging the gap by providing emergency food relief to those in desperate situations.
Every day we are impacted by the stories of people who say they wouldn’t be able to survive without the help they receive from Lighthouse.
Our $25 trolley’s and affordable groceries are now making a difference for over 550,000 people every year. We are thrilled to see countless new families taking advantage of our home delivery service which allows us to reach and impact even more people right across South East Queensland.
Please consider donating to our end of financial year appeal to help support the ongoing work of bringing food relief to those doing it tough in our communities.
